I quite admire the simplicity and power of delivering text in authentic html. Many modern approaches just spam divs and assign properties, I despise this approach as it obscures information massively. The ability to scrape and interact with the web in a predictable manner is a lost art. Imagine with me, for a moment, you are dissatisfied with the sites you like to read from. So, like any capable person with access to a computer, you look to change this. You write a simple tool to scrape your sites every day and pick out the important bits, headers, content, asides, quotes, all styled to your liking. One could, for instance, format all sites in their favorite, readable style. Though unlikely, it’s a nice thought. This can and has been done many times before, thought it’s a bit more tricky with modern sites.
I intend to keep this blog relatively frequent and detailed. It’s very possible that there will be overlaps between this and my other content. Perhaps you could call it a little treat for anyone who bothers to read an html purist blog.
